The symposium Biodiversity in the Silicon Age which will take place on May 17 to May 18, 2011 in The Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters in Copenhagen.
An exponential development in Information Technology is driving a methodological paradigm shift across much of science. This symposium takes a broad look at how this revolution is transforming biodiversity research, from genetics to ecology to global change biology: increasing amounts of data and new technologies to handle them are now completely revolutionizing the scope and scale of insight and understanding across the field. A key focus will be on elucidating potential new avenues for informatics-driven advances.
